RSSI Readings Not Accurate

Hi,

We are retrieving the RSSI value from Dialog every 100ms while connected to a central and logging it in our application. We are getting some unexpected RSSI values when we setup the link to use more than 2 packets per connection event (our app can control the number of packets per connection event). We are using an MTU of 512 bytes (although the MTU size doesn't seem to matter) and we are performing write requests and indications over BLE of various sizes up to the MTU size- many of them are more than 20 bytes.

DA1468x RSSI Measurement

Dear Dialog,

I've got some simple packet sniffing code running on both a DA14583 devkit and a DA14681 devkit,
This prints out packet data to a console window via the UART.

For some reason it appears that the RSSI value from the DA14681 is around 20 dBm less than the RSSI seen by the DA14583.
Also, the 14681 values fluctuate a lot more than the 14583 values.

Both are using the built-in PCB antenna on the daughterboard.

Is there any reason why the RSSI values should be so different between the two devices ?

Thanks,
Adrian Morgan

Disconnect when rssi is low

Tue, 2016-05-10 22:43--zwang308

Hi Dialog,

Is that possible to set a rssi low threshold when we init BLE stack, so that BLE stack will disconnect automatically when RSSI is lower than that value.

I know probably we could linsten to GAPC_CON_RSSI_IND message and disconnect manually. Is that possible for us to just set a value when init BLE stack and let it disconnect automatically?

Thanks a lot,

DA14580 Expert Kit RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication)

Hi, I'm studying by using DA14580 Expert Kit and Reference designs. But I have some questions about Reference designs.

I'm studying SPS, and I'd like to find out RSSI data from Ref design. But I think it's too hard for me to find it.

Could you tell me where I can get RSSI data in Ref design?

Or which files should I look over?

I've tried to look for it, but I can't. :(

I'm using "sps_device_fh.uvproj" file. I'd be happy when I get some information about that from you.

Thank you.
