Even with the 0xc3 which might be garbage in the SPI MISO, i suppose that you are not able to download code on the 580, even if you get an ACK on the 6th byte. So your problem should be on the SPI communication and on the connection wires. Please terminate and shield the connections properly especially the clock connection. The spi sampler when in slave mode its very sensetive to spikes and reflections.
