Does DA14681 dev kit basic support BAT charging?

Hi, Dialog,
I have a DA14681 dev kit -Basic.
I know that the DA14681 has a function of Battery Charging. But the manual of dev kit says 'Battery Charging not support' , why?
What should I do If connect a chargable battery on the board?

Best Regards

James

Hi jamesleo-konka,

Hi jamesleo-konka,

As mentioned on the basic's documentation charging is not supported on this device, only the pro kit is has the proper hw for charging rechargable batteries, although since the 68x has the ability for charging, theoretically one can charge a battery by applying power on the vbus pin, but you will have to apply also a 5.6 ohm resistor to the LP4 and also switch the J10 jumper.

Thanks MT_dialog

Hi, MT_Dialog

Hi, MT_Dialog
Do you mean that: VBUS -- R 5.6 ohm -- VBAT+, and switch J10 ? It's easy.
When will the Battery Chargin begin to work? software enable it?

Thanks

Best Regards

James

Hi jamesleo-konka,

Hi jamesleo-konka,

As i ve mentioned, this has not tested with the basic kit and theoretically should work, just mentioning in order to set things clear charging through the basic kit is officialy not supported, only the pro has the charging capability, apart from that yes you will have to enable the charging by the corresponding sw definitions, you can have a look at the proximity reporter, and as soon as you plug voltage to the VBUS the device should start charging. Also you can have a look for more details regarding the battery charging in AN-B-035 DA1468x Battery Charging.pdf and in the UM-B-044-DA1468x Software Platform Reference.pdf
