We am using the PLT and building our own prod_test.bin based on SDK 5.0.4
My PLT gives these versions:
Software: DA1458x/DA1468x Production Line
Software version: v_3.170.6.90
PLTD DLL version: v_3.170.6.90
PDLL Version: v_3.170.6.90
UDLL Version:
Production test BLE firmware version: v_5.0.4
Production test APP firmware version: v_5.0.4
Everything seems to work fine, but are there any firmware updates, which I need to put into the PLT hardware, like GU firmware or CPLD?
Is the CPLD programmed everytime DA1458x_DA1468x_CLI_PLT.exe is used? so that the firmware comes with the DA1458x_DA1468x_PLT_v_3.1.zip release?

The Latest software for the Golden Unit (GU) can be found in: ..\DA1458x_DA1468x_PLT_V_3.1\executables\binaries\GU\prod_test_GU.bin. By using Smart Snippets, this .bin file can be downloaded into the SPI of the PLT-board. The CPLD-software is version 1.3 or 1.5. The difference is a minute timing difference (10ms -> 100ms low signal of the 500 ms pulse), will not impact the PC-PLT software. The CPLD is only programmed during the manufacturing of the board.

Regarding the Golden Unit (GU) on the Production Line Tool (PLT).
I have been trying to download the latest GU firmware from "\DA1458x_DA1468x_PLT_V_3.1\executables\binaries\GU\prod_test_GU.bin".
I am using the SmartSnippets tool, which I open with the following configuration:
UART mode COM5. (I can verify the GU is located here)
DA14580-01
Board setup:
P0_4, P0_5, 57600 Bd
SPI Flash pin configuration:
CLK P0_0
CS P0_3
MISO P0_5
MOSI P0_6
The above fits the diagram DA14580_RD_TESTER dated November 04, 2015, which I got from WSI.
Going into the SPI Flash Programmer tab I press the "Connect" bottom:
In the log I get:
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:01] Firmware File C:\Users\cfr\SmartSnippets\resources\flash_programmer.bin has been selected for downloading.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:01] Connection to COM5 port has successfully opened.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:01] Started download procedure...
[ACTION @16-11-20 21:32:02] Please press the hardware reset button on the board to start the download process.
Then I press SW1 next to the GU on the PLT, and I wait. The log shows this:
[ERROR @16-11-20 21:32:17] Timeout: Reset signal not detected for more than 16000 msecs.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:17] Successfully disconnected from port COM5.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:17] Successfully disconnected from port COM5.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:17] Failed downloading firmware file to the board.
[INFO @16-11-20 21:32:17] Failed configuring SPI Flash ports and pins.
Could you help troubleshoot, why the FW download is not started?
Info: I am able to use the "DA1458x_DA1468x_CLI_PLT.exe", which is able to do XTAL trim on DUT (and D34 is flashing), so the GU is not dead.

Hi ciano,
Depending on the HW of the PLT that you have, you can check the manual UM-B-041 on the Appendix D in order to re program the Golden Unit using Smart Snippets.Can you please check if the J47 jumper is in place ( it should be removed in order to program the GU )? Also if that doens't work, can you check the state of the RESET of the GU ?

This info is only mentioned as a side note in "Appendix D Modification of Hardware version D", which is why I didn't find it.
