USB Development Kit - Codeless (USART pins)

Hello! I tried to work with USB Development Kit. Firstly, I loaded (by Dialog SmartBond Flash Programmer v1.0.4) codeless firmware and check visibility by phone - all is OK. When I tried to send ATI command from terminal (through JTAG's COM-port) - I got the same command to back (jumpers 1-off 4,5 - on). Also I tried to send this command by external UART-USB (connected to RX-TX at the board) - there's no answer. What pins should I use for USART?

Hi Alex,

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your question online. Please check the user manual – in section 2.2. Hardware Setup you will see that the the DA14531 Pro-DK motherboard, either DA14531, DA14531 Module or DA14585 daughterboard can be used with the same fly-wire and jumper connections. The DA14531 USB Kit is not suitable for the CodeLess.

Please see 5.6 Optional 2-/4-Wire UART :

“It is possible to use a 2-wire of 4-wire UART for booting or other activities, but it is not possible to boot from the SPI flash in this configuration”

Do you have any other of our DA14531 DKs?

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hi Alex,

Hi Alex,

Please refer to Codeless User manual and see section 2.2. Hardware Setup.

“DA14531 USB kit cannot be configured to boot from SPI flash and also operate a 2/4 wire UART - for this reason it is not well suited to being used as a platform for CodeLess. “

The supported boards are the following:

  • DA1458x Pro Motherboard with DA14585 daughterboard
  • DA1458x Pro Motherboard with DA14531/DA14531 Module daughterboard
  • DA14585 Basic board
  • Any other custom board using DA14531/DA14585 with a 2 wire UART will also work

Thanks, PM_Dialog
