Da14583

Can someone explain the difference between DA14580 and DA14583? It says DA14583 is for "Applications requiring software upgrade Over The Air (OTA)". Doesn't DA14580 also supports OTA? Does DA14583 supports OTA without having to load some firmware into chip first?

Hi danielc008, The DA14583

Hi danielc008, The DA14583 features 1 Mb Flash integrated in the package. The 14580 indeed also supports OTA but requires then an external Flash memory (and firmware that includes the SUOTA functionality). The DA14583 has a SUOTA secondary bootloader already programmed in OTP. Best regards, RvA

Hi RvA,

Hi RvA,

I'm trying to demo the suota for DA14583, is there any document which can guide me through the process. The tutorial and application note for SUOTA seems to be for an external flash. what and where do i change to use the internal flash for the 583 and what will be the jumper settings.

Thanks,
Mutahir

Hi mutahir,

Hi mutahir,

If you just define the fw that it will run on a 583, the fw will automatically use for the SUOTA the dedicated 583 flash pins. All the connections are internal the only extra you need to apply is the power supply for the flash.
