I'm currently working on a bluetooth solution using DA14580 SoC. And wanted few inputs from your technical support team:
1. Are there any hardware board design guidelines available for DA14580. Specially for the RF transceiver interfacing with antennas?
2. Are there any reference designs for 2.4GHZ SMD chip Antennas? Any recommended solution for chip antennas?
3. How do we test the performance of this bluetooth module in our design?
4. Are there any Dialog or third party test applications like iPerf available for testing the throughput?

1 & 2. Please check the document AN-B-027:Designing Printed Antennas for Bluetooth Smart.
3 & 4. When you say performance i suppose that you mean throughput performance. There is no generic tool from dialog that will allow to measure the throughput of your application or a third party application as far as i know. If you wish to test your application the test should be application specific.

Thanks for your suggestions. I looked at some of the support applications provided by Dialog. I basically wanted to know if there is any tool provided by Dialog for product testing. Can we use the android app called DSPS provided by dialog for basic testing of products developed using DA14580 SoC?
Also please let us know if Dialog can provide details of the material breakdown/composition of DA14580 SoC that can be used to model the chip parameters for Antenna EM simulation?

Dialog provides the production test tool in order to perform tests, you can have a look at the UM-B-008.pdf for info on this. The DSPS is dialog's reference design for the emulation of a serial port over bluetooth, i am not aware how you would like to use it for testing your products.
I am not sure if those kind of information are available, please correct me if i am wrong but i suppose that the Antenna EM simulation is based on the components of the antenna you choose and not on the SoC that you are going to hook your Antenna on, can you please share the reason why you would like this kind of info ?

Please share the link to production test tool documentation and user guide. Also regarding the SoC material details, we wanted this information for system level EM simulation of the PCBA board with antenna. Since this SoC is the closest major component on the board we wanted to take into consideration any effects of the chip on the antenna pattern.

Package mold: epsilon_r = 4.2, tan_delta = .01
Silicon: epsilon_r = 11.9, conductivity = .00025 S/m

You will have to accept and submit the terms and conditions in order to get access to our SDK and our documents. Please go to product DA14580 and navigate to software and tools. There you 'll see a padlock icon - click that, accept the agreement, and you will be granted will SDK access in a couple of days.
