I'm currently using SDK 5, but it seems that none of the documentation is really up to date,
for instance AN-B-29 and UM-B-003 is based on SDK 3.
Can you confirm this?
Is there a version of AN-B-29 for SDK 5?

The SDK5 is a relatively new SDK and most of the documentation is for the SDK3, but most of the functionality is pretty much the same. There are two documents that cover the differences between SDK3 and SDK5 those are UM-B-050 and UM-B-051. Regarding the custom profile tutorial there isn't any specific document that describes it in SDK5, please have a look at the documnets i have indicated and you will find info for the custom profile. On the SDK5 is much easier to attach a custom service and there are two custom project implementations (app_ble_peripheral and app_ble_profile).
Regarding the password, are you sure that it has to do something with the support site and not the browser ?

Thanks for the reply.
I'm quite new to the dialog component (580-583), but have experience of AT based systems,
so I was getting confused with the differences between the two versions.
For me it's been easier to learn the system using SDK 3 first, then move to SDK 5 once
it starts making sense.
On the login problem, I'm using Chrome, but I've had the problem with logging in from day one

I tried it in IE, same result, not recognized.
I suspect it doesn't change the password after I ask for a new one.
