can you please provide a short step by step "How-to" for setting up eclipse IDE with GCC and GDB for the DA14580 SoC? Can you also provide the necessary makefile and linkerskript?
I want to use 583 with eclipse+gcc+gdb, I have exceeded the 32K limitation in Keil.
Can you please help us with a project setup for Eclipse ? It will hardly take a day or two for you, but save thousands of dollars in licensing cost to your customers !
There is no eclipse version of the SDK of the 580 since its not supported by Dialog, only the 68x family supports GNU Tools and you will be able to find the entire suite on the support site in the DA14680 or DA14681 product in the Software & Tools tab in the Tools section.
Hi MT_dialog, when downloading DA14585_IOTP_v6.160.3.32.zip today, I noticed there is a folder "DA14585_IOTP\v6.160.3.32\projects\target_apps\iot\iot_585\Eclipse" with project files in it. Is Eclipse/GNU tools supported by this project? Your previous answers sound like this is not the case. But the folder structure makes me wonder.
For the DA14585 IoT Multi Sensor Development : SW Source we support GNU tools. Please have a look at the DA14585 Getting Started Guide with the IoT Multi Sensor Development Kit (UM-B-102).

Yes, in case of DA14580 the only option is the Keil IDE.
However, if you are starting a new design or project, we recommend starting with our newest Smartbond device named DA14531. The SDK is much improved, we have a lot of code examples and improved documentation, and there is also software roadmap support. There is not any software roadmap support for DA14580 product family and SDK5. Additionally, the SDK6.0.12 contains a GCC/Eclipse based project, so you can use our SmartSnippets Studio instead of Keil IDE.
Hi Stefan,
At this moment we support the Keil IDE as our toolchain. A free version of the Keil compiler/debugger can be downloaded fromKeil MDK-ARM版本5.
Hello,
Has this changed at all? Are there any resources to help set up an Eclipse toolchain?
Thanks
Hello James, not on the 580 today. THe next platform we announced to launch later in Q3/Q4 will be eclipse based. BR JE_Dialog
Hello,
any updates on this?
Thanks
Hi mabraun,
Sorry, but still we only support keil on 580. The 680 will be eclipse based.
Thanks MT_dialog

Hi !
Any updates on the DA14681 tool chain ?
I read in the DA1468x SDK BTLE Release Notes for version 1.0.8.1050.1 that there is a Eclipse based IDE.
Is it provided somewhere on your website ?
Thanks !

Hi!
May I ask that till now, is Keil still the only tool I could use to debug the DA14580 SoC? Do I have any other options? Thanks in advance
