Is it possible to get access to the HCI API code? I am trying to do an external processor solution, where the controller and host stack are run on the DA14580 while the profile and application are run on an external MCU, and have them communicate via UART

You may have your good reasons for wanting to use HCI (the request is typically coming from customers that already are using a similar setup with a chip from a competing vendor), but I should warn you that this architecture is the least power efficient way to operate. We have a solution named GTL that allows you to have the application running on your external MCU but allows the profile to reside in the DA14580. This setup takes advantage of the ultra low power consumption of the DA14580.
If I am following you, it sounds like GTL would work great fine for our application. Could you point me to documentation on using GTL?
