Recommended method for OTP

Hello,

What is the best method for OTP burning a DA14585 on a custom PCB? It is my understanding that a custom PCB can be programmed via jumper cables from a development kit, but I would like to know how Dialog Semiconductor recommends OTP burning a DA14585. For instance, should a manufacturer strictly handle OTP, should the microcontroller be OTP by a separate device and then soldered to a custom PCB, etc.?

Thanks,

Dominic

Hi Dominic,

Hi Dominic,

I found a previous forum post that you had raised before couple of months – please check this out:

Yes, I do recall. My question

Yes, I do recall. My question is how does Dialog Semiconductor recommend one-time programming the DA14585? Do you recommend having a manufacturer program the microcontroller before installing it onto a custom PCB? Do you recommend having some piece of equipment that handles programming the microcontroller? Do you recommend using the development kit to program a microcontroller that has already been installed to a custom PCB?

Thanks,

Dominic

Hi dbonelli,

Hi dbonelli,

You should just use the OTP programmer form the SmartSnippets toolbox. Are you able to connect? I’ve also replied you in his forum thread :
