ISP not detected by the IDE

你好。我买了一百SLG46824G SLG4之一DVKISP ISP board from the online store for a small personal project. However, I have been unable to test any of the devices as the IDE does not seem to detect the board.

You can see at that the ISP board is not being detected:https://orca.pet/shared/dialog/isphwempty.png

However, I have downloaded the MCP2221A I2C terminal from Microchip, the maker of the on-board USB-to-I2C adapter, and it seems to function correctly, detecting the SLG46582 being used as LDO and voltage shifter:https://orca.pet/shared/dialog/mcpterm.png. The orange power LED turns on, so that means this SLG46582 is probably proberly programmed and working.

I am running Windows 10, 64-bit edition compilation 10.0.19041.329 (May 2020 update), with Windows' default USB serial driver (as there seems to be no specific driver for the VID 2DCF/PID D006 on the GreenPAK drivers folder).

I have already tried closing and opening the program and debug menu several times, rebooting the PC, and even installing Microchip's MCP2221A drivers from their website, but nothing has worked.

socram,

socram,

Thank you for your question,

Could you try to check a few things, which probably may solve your issue?

1. Check if ISP board is connected correctly to GPAK (totally you should have 4 connections: VDD, SCL, SDA, GND)

2. Switch the device address to Avto detect

3. Change VDD in Debugging control window to Internal (for example 3.3V)

After you made all these steps the ISP board should connect the device, so you can run the Emulation

Please let me know if you solve the issue.

你好。I've tried to change

你好。I've tried to change the settings as you instructed (seehttps://orca.pet/shared/dialog/isphwempty2.png) but that seems to make no difference: the ISP isn't still detected.

Here's a picture of the current setup: it's a SLG46824G on a TSSOP to DIP adapter, with VDD and VDD2 connected together, and the rest of the pins going straight to the ISP device. As you can see, I get zero volts on VDD, which means the IDE isn't properly configuring the ISP and doesn't enable the voltage output at all:https://orca.pet/shared/dialog/meter.jpg(to rule out the connector from being damaged, I also tried to measure it straight on the solder points on the bottom of the PCB, but that made no difference)

The POWER LED stays still, which means that I'm not getting output because the PC isn't instructing it, as according to the ISP manual in case of any protection kicking in it would blink or stay off.

Using Microchip's I2C terminal I can successfully talk to the built-in GPAK on the ISP and dump its NVM, which means the device seems to be okay and behaving, probably indicating some sorta of issue with GreenPAK designer itself:https://orca.pet/shared/dialog/mcpread.png

socram,

socram,

Could you also check if any other Debugging controls are started? This could happen the port is used by another device. Please also close Microchip's I2C terminal.

If this will not help you, then it is the hardware problem. I can send you another ISP board to check, the working one. Could you please send to my @mail (Oleh.Sapiha@diasemi.com) the shipping address.

Hello Olehs,

Hello Olehs,

I have tried closing everything and leaving the GreenPAK Designer opened alone but it's still not working:https://orca.pet/shared/dialog/isphwempty3.png

I will contact you over that email with my personal details,

Sincerely,
Marcos

Hi Marcos,

Hi Marcos,

Yes, you are right that the ISP board doesn't work properly. This is the software issue and it will be fixed in the future revision of GreenPAK designer. For now, we have a fix. Please see the file in the attachment. You have to extract the appropriate file to the folder with GreenPAK Designer (typically it is in the folder C:\Program Files\Dialog Semiconductor\GreenPAK Designer v.6.22 (64-bit)) and replace the existing file. After you made it ISP board should work.

Please let me know if your problem was solved.

Marcos,

Marcos,

Please let me know if you have any further questions about the software or GreenPAK itself.
