Problem printing on UART console

Hello,

我am using DA14531 SmartBond TINY™ Development Kit Pro, Keil v5.30.0.0 and SDK6.0.14.

我reference the blinky projec. I am able to build & run it on the board, D5 is blinking in orange, so the code seems to execute on the Development Kit Pro.

However, on the UART console I cannot see any messages, and as I see from the code, I have to see *LED ON* & *LED OFF*

我connect to the UART Console via putty with the following settings (tried both COM3 & COM4): 115200 baud rate, data bits -> 8, stop bits -> 1, NO flow control, parity -> None.

Hardware connections are as described in Figure 27 here:http://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/UM-B-117-DA14531-Getting-Star....

Could you share how to get the uart working?

Thanks,
Yordan

Hi,

Hi,

Nevermind, you can disregard this. I managed to get this working using P0_5 configuration, not P0_6 as described in Figure 27 above.

我t seems that Development Kit Pro does not support single wire uart. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Yordan

Hi Yordan,

Hi Yordan,

Thanks for your question and for you interest in our TINY module solution. Please refer toUM-B-139: DA14531 Module getting started Guide (HTML)and Figure 6 : The DA14531 module connected to the DA14531 mother Board. I am using the same jumper configuration and I am able to run the Blink example. The “LED ON” / “LED OFF” message are appeared in my serial terminal.

The Pro-DK supports 1-wire UART. Please see section 9 Programming and debugging interface setup in嗯- b - 141:哒14531 SMARTBOND TINY™ MODULE Development Kit Pro Hardware User Manual.

Hi,

Hi,

With the single-wire uart settings J1:19-20; J10:1-J1:15; J10:2-J1:17 I am NOT able to get anything on the UART. However, when I connect J1.17 - J2.27, I see the prints on my UART Console.

Something gets wrong when I connect J1:19-20; J10:1-J1:15; J10:2-J1:17. Any ideas? Perhaps additional pinmuxing in the code?

Thanks, Yordan

Hi Yordan,

Hi Yordan,

Sorry for my late response. Would it be possible to take photo and share it, so that I can check jumpers /wires setup and replicate it in my side?

Did you change anything in the FW side?

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hi,

Hi,

Sorry I was OoO.
Attached is the jumper setup I use. Basically I follow the setup described inhttp://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/UM-B-117-DA14531-Getting-Star...

"

P0_5
UART2 TX (Single Wire)

Connect J1.19 – J1.20 Connect J10.1 – J1.15 Connect J10.2 – J1.17

Note On the FCGQFN24 package, P0_5 is assigned to a single wire UART signal RxTx. To enable this on DA14531 PRO-Development kit, three additional jumpers need to be added. SeeFigure 27."

But I cannot see anything on the console.

Thanks,
Yordan

Hi Yordan,

Hi Yordan,

Apologies again for the delay. If you need to use the P0% as UTX, please use a fry wire from J2.26 to J1.17.

谢谢你的回复。我

谢谢你的回复。我managed to get through this. User needs to remap the pinmux of the SDK examples to use UART TX on P0_5. Currently it is mapped to a different pin.

We can close this discussion.

Again thanks for the support.

Best Regards,
Yordan
