unable to detect Da14531 tiny module using the smartbond flash programmer

We have connected the smart bond tiny module daughter board to the motherboard following thishttp://lpccs-docs.dialog-semiconductor.com/um-b-138/introduction.html,

In our application code we are using the SWD (p0_2, p0_10)pins for a display peripheral and have disabled the default swd pins functionality. We were able to flash the code to the SPI flash for the first time using the flash programmer . We made some modifcations to the code and when we are trying to flash the code using the flash programmer , we are unable to detect the device and we get the error " No known chip found while opening JLINK connection " . Could you please help us with this issue ? Thanks

Hi sripathi,

Hi sripathi,

Thanks for your question. The flash programmer tool is using JTAG to program / erase the SPI flash. Since the running firmware disables the debugger, please try to erase the SPI flash via UART using the SmartSnippets Toolbox . After that, are you able to program the board? I assume that the jumpers are places same as Figure 3 DA14531 Module.

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hi , yes the jumpers are

Hi , yes the jumpers are placed exactly as shown in figure 3 .

On the smart snippets toolbox (version 5.0.12) , when i select UART the two com ports are shown , but when i select a port and click on detect, it returns error "failed detecting devices " . I didnot find an option to flash on the UI

Hi sripathi,

Hi sripathi,

Please hit to the “New” button – a pop up window will be appeared. Enter your preferable name – for example type DA14531. Then, what you typed will be appeared in the left column. After that please make sure that you have the same configuration as my previous attachment.

Please refer to the user manual as well.

Thanks, PM_Dialog

Hi sripathi,

Hi sripathi,

Please seeUM-B-139: DA14531 Module getting started Guide (HTML)and section 8.2. SmartSnippets™ Toolbox. Make sure that you have the same jumpers configuration and same “Board Setup” selection. You should use 1-wire UART for programming the Flash.

Thanks, PM_Dialog
