Hello Dialog,
I am trying to generate a very compact antenna for use with DA14531 with 1mm FR4 PCB.
In your application note:
AN-B-027: Designing Printed Antennas for Bluetooth Smart 22/02/2017 2.2
有一个20页图1.0米佐尔天线m PCB.
I have downloaded the DXF file for this antenna (ant_zor.dxf) from:
AN-B-027: Designing Printed Antennas: DXF files 04/04/2017 1.0
However, the DXF image does not match the pdf image in the document! What is the correct antenna layout I should use?
The DXF shows 4 disconnected areas on the bottom layer whilst the pdf document shows them as connected.
Also, is the antenna structure connected to GND at all or is it only connected to the RF output of the DA14531 (via matching and filtering components)?
Thanks in advance for your advice/clarification.
Hi melj,
Thanks for your question online. Just checked the ant_zor.dxf as provided in the DA14531 support page and it is the same with the image in the AN-B-027 document. In the bottom layer, there are 4 disconnected areas, but they are connected with the top layer. Please check the vias between top and bottom layer. Regarding the antenna matching and how shoulv be connected, please refer toAN-B-075: DA14531 Hardware Guidelinesapplication note which provides the minimal reference schematic, circuit explanation, and design guidelines for BLE applications based on the DA14531 SoC.
Thanks, PM_Dialog
Hi Dialog
Thanks for your reply. The dxf image of the bottom layer I have contains a total of 7 separate copper areas (all are connected to the top layer with vias) and the separate ground plane. Please see the attached image. Can you confirm this is correct? I was expected the 4 smallest copper areas in the centre to be connected to each other, but perhaps I am wrong and they just connect to the top copper.
Thanks in advance
Hi melj,
I asked the Team internally and the dxf fie is correct. Also, the ZOR antenna described in pdf document and in dxf file are the same.
Thanks, PM_Dialog
