克斯特nal hardwire to get battery level & voltage?

Dear Dialog Team,

We come across a tech issue in design regarding to battery level data for DA14531. We notice there are a bunch of batt functions defined in the sdk for DA14531 & DA1458X platform. We understand it shall have been implemented to attain battery voltage and level in software. We would like know how hardware be considered which is not detailed in spec. Is the battery voltage measured internally inside the chip and returned value when calling upbattery_get_voltage,battery_get_lvlwithout external hardwiring battery to ADC pins ? Or have to hardwire battery positive to ADC pin to get measured externally? and how to map the batt function to the ADC pins which connected to batt should external hardwiring is a must?

Kind regards

Frank Xu

Hi Frankie,

Hi Frankie,

With our Dev-kit Pro hardware the power consumption can be measured by the Toolbox.

Dear PW_Dialog,

Dear PW_Dialog,

Understand measurement can be done on dev-kit. My question is whether the external hardwire from battery positive to ADC pin is required or this link has been done internally inside the chip such that the battery voltage & level is able to be sensed. As shown in the attached image.

Merry Christmas

Hi Frank,

Hi Frank,

To measure V_BAT voltage, ADC connection is not necessary, that can be read by chip internally.

Hi, PW_Dialog,

Hi, PW_Dialog,

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought. Just not quite sure how the chip get the battery voltage internally as there are quate a few levels of voltage segragation inside, DC/DC, LDO. Is there any check point at the battery voltage input pin to sense the battery voltage in the chip?

Kind regards

Hi Frank,

Hi Frank,

Yes, you're right. The voltage at input pin can be read from register.
