Hi,
In designing a board and setting up my power structure I'm puzzled by conflicting requirements on my rails. The datasheet has Absolute Maximum Ratings but the silkscreening on the EVM has very different labels on the banana sockets that as far as I can see go straight (OK, through a 0.2R sense resistor) to the device pins.
Datasheet
VDD :: -0.3 .. +2.75V
VDD_IO :: -0.3 .. +5.5V
VDD_MIC :: -0.3 .. +5.5V
EVM
VDD :: 1V8 .. 3V6
VDD_IO :: 1V6 .. 3V6
VDD_MIC :: 1V8 .. 2V5
I am very confused dot com.
Could I get an authorative answer on the range and limits of the 7218 supplies? I would prefer not to spend another board revision on ambiguity.

(also: why is there no Device Entry on this forum for the 7218?)

Hello,
The datasheet values you have stated are the Absolute maximum ratings and the evaluation board have the markings for the common operating conditions.
If you refer to table 6 of the datasheet this will give you the recommended operating conditions.
Best Regards.
I'm sorry but that is slightly nonsensical. So the Abs Max Rating for VDD is 2.65V but thecommonoperating range is up to 3V6?
So that means if I feed VDD 3.3V as I did intially and the device fails, you'll replace it?
Hello,
The performance board has an incorrect label. The input for VDD as stated on the performance is the VDD_MIC input. The VDD_MIC input as stated on the performance board is the VDD input. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Elliott Dexter
Thank you Elliott.
