Hello everyone,
I've been trying to get the latest SPS demo application working. I've managed to use Connection Manager to load programs on to the DA14580, and get the android DSPS app to find and connect to my DA14580 (I'm using a PAN1740 USB Module). My problem is that I cannot send any text from my android DSPS app to the Putty Serial Terminal screen. Going the reverse direction works correctly (e.g., Once connected I can send text from the Putty Serial Terminal to the android, and the letters show up on the android screen, but typing text on the android does not cause the letters to show up on the Putty Serial Terminal Screen). I was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening and what I can do about it. I remember when the SPS first came out, I was able to send and receive data in both directions, but now I've got this problem. Also I tried both the Console and RX/TX modes in the android app.

So I've made some progress with this particular issue,
When I change the handshaking from Hardware back to software XON/XOFF (by editing the da14580_config.h of the sps_device application), and load that onto my PAN1740 USB stick (using Connection Manager), I'm able to send text in both directions again. I wonder if the PAN1740 USB stick does not implement hardware handshaking? Will check the schematics.

I have the same problem with the PAN1740. Sendind data from terminal to the App is working. In the other direction I can see (sometimes) a lot of "invalid" characters 0x11 and 0x13 permant received. Switching to Xon/Xoff doesn't help. Any ideas ?
Hello Nater,
could you solve the issue by checking the schematics?
Best regards,
Ingo
Hi ,
I have same issue . I have able to recieved anything from Android device to Terminal but it does not work in other direction ! Could someone know how to resolve this?
Best regards.
Hello chungtran, are you also using the PAN1740 ? this might be down to hardware flow control and whether the JTAG interface supports hardware flow control. The app works perfectly on the Dialog EXPERT kit and Android/iOS and for the BASIC kit, there is a modification needed (please see the user manual). Ingo @ Panasonic is working on checking through with the PAN1740 development kit.

Thank you! I have just resolved this problem .Its about SW and HW flow control. When i changed 2 mode then it worked very nice.
Hi JE_Dialog,
I want to connect my board (DA14580 chipset) to the Dialog DA14580 USB dongle, I am using the DSPS firmware and it works well. I have now the problem that the dongle only supports the xon/xoff flow control mode, but I also need a binary data transfer and this one is only supported in hardware flow control mode. Is there any possibility to solve this problem? Is a new driver available for the dongle?
BR SEM
Hi SEM, unfortunately there is no workaround that i'm aware of : the only other option would be to substitute the USB dongle for a PRO board or BASIC board + FTDI cable.
