Will the battery charger circuitry still work even if the reset pin is asserted?
I am thinking about including an external voltage supervisor to assert the reset pin when the battery voltage drops too low (under voltage lockout), but I want to make sure that the charging circuitry will work even if the reset line is asserted.

The battery charger is a part of the system, so when the pin reset is asserted the hole system gets reset. This means that you are not able to have reset functionality even if the reset line is asserted.

I'm not quite sure I understand the answer. If I wanted to keep the system powered down (if the battery was too low), and held the reset pin high, could I still take advantage of the battery charger or not?
My plan was to keep the system powered down (by asserting the reset pin), but still use the charge circuitry to charge the battery.

If the system is powered down, you could not use the battery charger.
