J-Link, Windows driver installation

Hi Support,

one question regarding the J-Link driver installation.
From the getting started PDF/6.3.1 Driver Installation Windows (UM-B-047-DA1468x) i can see that the J-Link driver is listed in the popup from Windows, when connected the Pro devboard to a "fresh" USB port of the host computer.
When i do this, only the following devices appear in the list for Driver Software Installation:
...USB 2.0 MTT Hub
...USB Composite device
...USB Serial Converter A/USB Serial Converter B
...USB Serial Port (Com9)/USB Serial Port (COM10)
All devices appear as "ready to use".
但J-Linkdriver is not in the list. For what is it used?

In the Windows Device Manager, J-Link driver is listed in the 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' section, and at least i can flash the device via JTAG and i am able to debug the demo SW. After start of the SS Studio, the J-Link software package components are listed with version 5.12f, so from this side all seems to be OK. I don't remember exactly, but for the SeggerView, there came once the message that the J-Link seems not be installed.

Hi Stefan_dialog,

Hi Stefan_dialog,

I am sorry, but i dont quite understand the question, the problem is that when you hooked the device on your PC, at the installed components at the windows installation, there was no Jlink driver like the Figure 4: Windows driver installation ? Perhaps the Jlink driver was allready installed ? Since you are able to debug and download code via the JTAG i dont think that there is a issue with the installation that have allready. If the Jlink driver was not installed you wouldn't be able to do anything via JTAG (download code via JTAG, debug code etc).

Thanks MT_dialog

Hi Support,

Hi Support,

yes, it is the Figure 4 from the getting started document.

I was just wondering that the Jlink driver did not appear in the new driver list for this USB port. It was definitely a fresh port, otherwise the other devices would have not appeared there. On another USB port, Jlink was already installed.
Nevertheless, in the device manager the JLink appears and is working.
