We have designed a custom board with DA14580 ( 3v coin cell battery )based on Da14583 IOT design , everything is similar lyk antenna design (IFA antenna) , but IOT Board gives range around 10 meter , But our custom board gives hardly 6 meter range only , why ??
If i use range extender how much range i can achieve ??

Hi prasanth,
The range of an antenna depends on many factors, matching, type of the antenna, pcb layout etc, also the IoT design uses a ceramic antenna and not a IFA antenna (we used the IFA antenna symbol in order to emulate an antenna in the schematic, but a ceramic antenna is used, as the application note UM-B-064 documents). Regarding how long you can go with the range extender, with the current perfomed tests we could achieve communication up to 400 meters.
