i am attempting to use a different 32K crystal in a da14583 design. your reference designs use an abracom part (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/abracon-llc/ABS06-32.768KHZ-9-T...) but i have selected a Seiko-Epson part (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/FC-135R%2032.7680KA-AC3/SER4072...). i now find that 32k crystal oscillator on my board with the Seiko-Epson part does not work (i have a piece of reference code that works on the basic kit but does not work on my board. the only difference is the crystal). the specifications look very close (or better) than the abracom part. can you assist with any advice?

I see that the characteristics of the crystal that you ve picked are quite identical, are you sure that this is the reason the custom board doesn't work, if you switch to no sleep mode or if you switch to the RCX oscillator your custom board operates ?

Can you please check if the XTAL32 is running at all or if the frequency of the crystal is the one that is suppose to be ? You will be able to check that with the CLI tool and the xtrim en command, that will output your 32K crystal on pin P06. Also you will have to configure the CLK_32K_REG and set bit 0 and bit 7 to one. For more info on this please check the UM-B-008.pdf document.
