BLE scanner and advertiser in one application

Hi Dialog Team and all others,

Our question is: do you know, if there is a similar application, to realize this quickly or does somebody realized following yet:

We want to realize an application which is about 1 sec in deep sleep and wakes up for about 1 sec as a BLE scanner (BLE host) and goes back to deep sleep. Every 10th time it wakes up as a BLE advertiser for 1 sec . (10 ms not connectable advertising with 100 ms interval), than goes back to deep sleep. If the scanner scans a specific device name, it should switch for several sec. to advertising mode. In the first step, the BLE host and advertiser must make no connections. That’s all.

Can you imagine, how long the battery life time could be, with a CR2032? It’s very important for us to estimate this. Up to one year? The parameters like intervals can be changed to optimize the battery life time.

Our idea is to take DSPS device and host application and build from that a new one. Interval advertising and deep sleep wake up, we have implemented in the DSPS device application yet. May be, you know a better and faster way. We wish us more sample applications.

In advance many thanks.

Hi cosianer,

Hi cosianer,

Its possible to switch between two modes using the da, you just send a GAPM_RESET_CMD and set the role you want when the reset is completed. Now about the battery lifetime is fully depended on the air operations the device is going to execute and its a bit difficult to calculate. I trust that the DSPS is a good start since it is the only available reference design that implements a central and peripheral in fully hosted mode, should be the best place to start.

Thanks MT_dialog
