However, in my experience, MTP is unreliable (ACK polling according to section 16.4 never terminates in most cases) with VDD2 not being connected.
I had to add a switch for VDD2 to my SLG46826/SLG47004 programmer as programming the SLG46826 does not work without VDD2 and the SLG47004 uses that pin differently.
