SLG46116 questions

Hi, I have two questions about the SLG46116:

- What pins are used for programming? I can find this in the datasheet for other greenpak devices but not in the SLG46116 or SLG46117 datasheets.

- What is the safe operating area of the power FET? I'd like to specify a PTC thermistor to protect the output against short circuits.

Hello j4cbo,

The SLG46116 is an OTP based part and is programmed on the Dialog side for no extra cost. The process would be for you to provide the GreenPAK design to your local sales person or FAE, they would then verify the design and assign a custom PN. You would then use this custom PN for ordering programmed parts. We do not support in system programming with the SLG46116 and do not provide the tools for this process. There is no NRE for the process of generating a custom PN, however the MOQ is 3K(1 x reel).

We have two devices which support ISP, but they do not have the integrated PFET.

Which parameter of the PFET are you looking for?

Kind regards,
ED

For production I would have the part programmed by Dialog. But for development, I was hoping to take advantage of the support mentioned in the datasheet (section 3.0): "Silego’s GreenPAK development tools can be used to configure the connection matrix and macrocells, without programming the NVM, to allow on-chip emulation. This configuration will remain active on the device as long as it remains powered and can be re-written as needed to facilitate rapid design changes." So my question is, in the on-chip emulation situation, which pins would need to be connected to the development tools (presumably a SLG4DVKADV)?

For the PFET, really my question is, is there a way to implement overcurrent protection for the power FET or does it have any sort of overcurrent protection built in?

Thanks!

Hello j4cbo,

While using the SLG4DVKADV for emulation, programming will be taken care of. Also unfortunately, the PFET does not have over current protection built in. You can perhaps try using external resistors connected across and use the comparators inside the SLG46116V to implement it

Kind Regards
