A faster way to new Bluetooth® applications
Swedish IoT company Smart Sensor Devices AB believes developing new Bluetooth applications should be as easy as using them. That’s why they created the BleuIO Bluetooth Low Energy USB dongle using Dialog’s Bluetooth SoCs– a smart, highly integrated device that lets developers create new Bluetooth LE 5.0 applications with minimal effort.
Motion Aware Thin Bluetooth® Low Energy Beacon Solution for Smart Labels
A beacon is a tiny Bluetooth radio battery-powered transmitter. Beacons provide an inexpensive broadcasting solution capable of autonomous operation over very long periods of time. In this paper, we will show how beacons can support extended functionality by employing a range of peripherals to allow them to process and display data while maintaining autonomous operation.
Smart devices that don’t need charging?
Smartcube Co. produces modular chips that convert everyday objects like sport shoes and ID badges into smart, connected IoT devices. Remarkably, they aim to produce chips that are so energy-efficient, the resulting devices never need charging! Dialog’s SmartBond Bluetooth low energy range is helping them achieve their power consumption goals at low cost while delivering excellent reliability.

COM PORT ON DA14585-00ATDEVKT-B
Posted bymu23455 points 4 repliesDear sir or madam,
I am running a virtualbox to host a windows10 on linux ubuntu that runs on imac ... so far I have had no problems with finding the com port to flash, etc. devices either via terminal in linux or via eg. segger em studio...
so in vm windows I get the com port ready and I am trying to find the com port via Tera term, looking at the manual on p. 12 (User Manual
DA14585/DA14586 Getting Started Guide with the Basic Development Kit UM-B-048) , however I cannot see any "readings" of the port, would you please let me know, what could be done to get the port going?
Do I need to install the driver? If so, what is the name of it?
Thank you in advance for any comments, ideas, etc!
BEST.

Thanks, solved it!,
The jumpers were ok, set as delivered apparently on UART, the problem was that I had to set the COM port on a dev/ttyACM0 and works now ok
moving on with the "user manual", fingers crossed!
Best.

Hi, I am now in Keil u5 on windows10 VM , I can see that the com ports is "reading" via UART ok, so, I have opened the blinky / Keil5 SDK example, following the steps in the user manual, the device settings set on ARMCM0 , scatter file ok, moving to Debug , J-Link ... Jtrace cortex selected, however,
Icannot see or find the sysram.ini, but I can see , given by default, " ..\..\shared\DA14585_586.ini ",OK?!
moving to setting,but SWD " No J-Link found "
Can you help?
Best.
PS sorry for posting here, it is a matter of different subject :/

Hi mu234,
Thank you for your question online.
Does the COM port appear in the vm windows device manager as in page 11 of the User Manual (UM-B-048)?
Please also check if the jumpers on the DK are in the proper UART position, so that the FTDI chip is connected with DA14585’s UART.
Regards, AA_Dialog
